Internet Marketing Overload

Internet Marketing Overload!

Have you ever decided to do something and five million things stop you? That sort of thing happens to me all the time, and a question I have often asked of people in general is "How long do you keep on having a go before you say enough is enough?"

Well having received my two free tickets to this big Internet Marketing Course in Brisbane, absolutely nothing got in my way! The tickets turned up, transport was arranged, the family commitments slotted in fine, I had no clients booked in....you get the idea! How exciting and thrilling, I was sure that I would find out exactly what I require to launch my Poem into cyberspace and the rest would just happen:) My Dad had always told me to keep my eyes and ears open, and to never slam a door shut with regard to business and knowledge. A family motto handed down by my Mum's father was "to thy own self be true", so I figured I would use both of their advice and listen, learn and act.

Since becoming a natural therapist and owning a Kinesiology Clinic, I have learned that we are constantly given hints, sometimes nudges, via the Universe and it is very useful to be aware of this process. I must admit prior to starting my Kinesiology journey I had not given that aspect to life much of a thought. My favourite male singer is John Farnham and at a previous workshop had been asked to bring in a the song that meant the most to me on a personal goal level. I had chosen "Your the Voice" by John Farnham, so you can imagine my total amazement to hear this song being belted out at the Internet Marketing workshop.

I was so in the right place!

There were literally hundreds of people milling around waiting to get their names ticked off and being given a notebook, pen and name tag. Everyone looked very excited and ready for fun. I managed to get a seat near the front and wasn't quite sure what to expect. Well this youngish man bounced onto the stage and started talking about the opportunity of using the internet to make wealth and how it was a great modern vehicle to reach out to people worldwide...PERFECT! Just what I wanted to know:)

He then got the audience to participate by giving us all a coloured paperclip.......I know! Remember that was what started it all a red paperclip!....What we had to to do was to share or exchange with others something for the paperclip, and whoever had the most paperclips or got a item of value was kind of the winner. The only catch was we were not allowed to approach the person on stage. Fair enough I figured, that was OK. In my mind I was not going to give someone else my paperclip, I was going to get the most back. Not sure of what I could swap, I decided to use my business cards as a bait....guess what I ended up with 5 different coloured paperclips...pretty good I figured. As it turned out not good enough to win that prize at that stage, and some people even managed to swap blocks of time from the person on stage...Yes I know we were told not to do that, but apparently, you were meant to anyhow. So next time I will know.

I was still pretty pleased to have swapped 4 others with my business card, and being a natural therapist my mind instantly recognized that I nearly had all the chakra colours. A few minutes later the speaker picked up a book and casually tapped it against his other hand, quick as blink I raised my hand and asked if I could swap my paperclips for the book. I know very cheeky of me, and I figured he could only say no, and of course I was very safe as there was not another person at the venue who knew me, so I didn't even have to feel self conscious. Guess what.......he said yes! Now I was the proud and I must say rather chuffed owner of a book called "Secrets of Internet Entrepreneurs Exposed"...how perfect was that, I was having so much fun:)

By lunchtime my mind was reeling with information, words that I had never heard of being constantly used, and my note book was being filled with all this stuff! OMG! Underlining the entire day was the attitude of ....take action! Be responsible for your own destiny! Boy did I require food and coffee!

By the end of the afternoon session I was on yet another mission.........My mind was going ten to the dozen, little cogs going in all directions, my thoughts jumping from here to there back to here!

That was just day one..wait until tomorrow..........!
